About

In attempts to address the concept and theory of uncertainty, Calip focuses on the experimentation and exploration of the “idea” rather than the finished outcome. Interested in the unpredictable results of working intuitively, his practice is reflective of this process of discovery. Encouraging unexpected dialogues between time and memory, Calip hopes for his work to shine light on the over-looked fact that life is random. Calip earned a BFA in "New Genres" under the Presidential Merit Scholarship at the San Francisco Art Institute. He is currently completing his MFA at San Francisco Art Institute. He has been included in several museum exhibitions, solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, workshops, and lectures in the Philippines, France, Germany, and throughout the United States. Calip currently lives in Berkeley.
