Through his drawings, the masterful French artist, Frank Girard, conveys the narratives of his encounters and his own experiences:
"I reside in a district known as 'The Written Tree.' I'm uncertain whether this lovely name has not imprinted itself in my mind, but one day, I commenced drawing inhabited trees, with humans amidst nature, embraced by nature, interwoven within this nature from which we originate and in which we dwell. My home is situated within the forest, surrounded by trees throughout the day. I care for them. They predated my presence, and they shall endure beyond my time. We observe one another with benevolence. When I gaze upon them, I discern numerous figures beneath the leafy canopy. They share with me their adventures, the great myths, whether biblical or otherwise, and always a quote from Venice. I am enamored with this marvel, this comprehensive work of art that is the floating city."
