The Priest and the Grandmother is an original drawing in mixed media, pen and pencil, and gouache, realized by Gabriele Galantara, the state of preservation of the artwork is good, applied on cardboard.

The artwork represent a priest and an old woman while speaking in an interior, created with delicate lines through intense black, showing their emotion through simplicity and intimacy.
Gabriele Galantara(1867-1937), journalist and one of the major Italian caricaturists and satirical designers. The Donkey was a political satire magazine in 1892, the year of the first Giolitti ministry and the establishment of the Italian Socialist Party, The magazine was conceived by Guido Podrecca, a Carduccian university student, positivist and socialist, and by Gabriele Galantara, brilliant cartoonist and puppeteer, also a socialist. The two assumed the pseudonyms of "Goliardo" (Podrecca) and "Rata Langa" (Galantara), and with these nicknames, they signed the issues of the weekly.
