Guy Oberson
Dashed Hopes I by Guy Oberson - work on paper, contemporary

2016

About the Item

Black chalk on paper, 60 cm × 90 cm. The Dashed Hopes series is about the tragic journey of migrants, in particular crossing the sea. This series is a tribute to migrants driven by hope, but who find themselves confronted by death, as so frequent during these migrations. In this artwork, we can see a wave represented. Guy Oberson speaks of the wave as “a metaphor, but also as a real way of transport towards the dream of a better country.”
