Original watercolor on paper.
Hand-signed in pencil by the artist on the lower left: Maccari.

Man in profile is an original watercolor drawing realized by Mino Maccari, a great Italian painter of the Italian Twentieth Century. The work depicts the figure of a skinny man in profile. The expression of the man is frowning and the nose is particularly pronounced. The style is, as usual, fresh and rapid and there is an interesting caricature aspect, typical of Maccari production.
This was realized by the Italian artist Mino Maccari (Siena, 1898 – Rome, 1989). Maccari was a popular Italian painter and engraver. He produced many artworks through different graphic techniques. He exhibited at important international exhibitions in the fields of art and graphics. In 1959, he became the director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome; in 1963, he won Antonio Feltrinelli's prize for painting and became president of the San Luca Academy. He realized many lithographs and etchings of satirical and political subject matters. He was also famous for erotic and sexual drawings. He has worked for many years at Il Mondo.
