'Abstract No. 4, 2015' by John Goodman. The artwork is 12 x 9 inches and it is framed in a museum quality black wood frame. Signed and dated by artist. Excellent condition. From Andra Norris Gallery in California.
Goodman’s signature restrained palette and impasto brushwork dominate his paintings and sculptural works that often speak of isolation and eternity. There is an excitement in the paint and its “movement”, and a beckoning for the viewer to remember things — memories or ideas — seemingly long lost.
Goodman’s work has been deeply influenced by the Bay Area Figurative Movement which grew out of the work of David Park, Richard Diebenkorn, Nathan Oliveira and others. Nathan Oliveira was a personal mentor to Goodman. Goodman has exhibited in New York, Chicago and San Francisco. His paintings reside in private collections in North America, Europe and Asia
