This mid 20th century watercolor on paper landscape is by Dutch-Californian Expressionist Richard Van Wingerden (1893-1969). Van Wingerden was a WPA artist and studied with Thomas Hart Benton at the Art Students League in New York and with Benjamin Bufano and Spencer Macky at the Mary Hopkins Institute of San Francisco.
Estate stamped lower right.
Framed in a restored thin vintage wood frame with distressed silver and black finish using antique white archival matting behind conservation clear glass.
