About the Item
“Musing" by Sarah Alexander is a 30 x 40 x 1.5 inch watercolor landscape on canvas viewed through graceful grasses along a body of water. The warm red and gold grasses are a stark contrast to the deep cool blues in the distance. Painted on a special canvas made for watercolor, Alexander dripped, painted, and painstakingly lifted and layered pigments. This painting has been sealed with a UV protected acrylic, and has painted gallery wrapped sides and doesn't require framing. The artist shares that this painting "explores a moment of contemplation and reflection experienced during times of transition and anticipation."
Sarah Alexander is a contemporary mixed media artist with an emphasis on watercolor using unconventional surfaces and techniques. Her work is in private collections and has been shown extensively throughout New England, and abroad. Her work has been published by North Light Books. Alexander is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston, MA.
