Noble Hunting Society wild Boar Deer and Dogs, Hunter's Life, 1822, Watercolour

1822

About the Item

This Watercolor drawing shows a noble hunting society. The duke (?) on horse and several noble ladies accompanying the soctiety. The duke (?) gestures towards a group of hunters on horse. They are standing in a river (?) / water with their horses. Behind them we see the forest where the hunt took place. In the foreground we see the hunted game ( wild boar, deer). In the foreground hunted game is shown to the noble ladies. The drawing is dated (left) "30th Juny 1822". The watercolor is very fine executed and of fine quality. The style seems to be German or perhaps British. It must have been an important hunting event as the drawing is dated. Unfortunately there are no coat of arms to identfy the noble society.
