About the Item
Master portrait artist and illustration legend Bob Peak captures the likeness, dignity and essence of Saudi Arabia's King Faisal for Time Magazine Cover preliminary - Man of The Year. The final version that was published is less spontaneous and, in my opinion, less of a work than this work. Framed under glass. Condtion is excellent
Done in 1975, this illustration art looks as contemporary as any artwork one could ever find in any contemporary New York Art Gallery today. Bob Peak is as overlooked as he is talented. In the 1960s to 1980s Peak was a legend and the absolute gold standard for post-WW11 American Illustration.
Some of the movie posters Peak has worked on. West Side Story, Rollerball, Star Trek, Superman, Excalibur, Apocalypse Now, The Spy Who Loved Me. My Fair Lady, Camelot and Enter the Dragon. Additionally, Peak illustrated 45 covers of Time Magazine and many covers for Sports Illustrated, TV Guide. He is best known for his many movie posters including Apocalypse Now.
