"Portrait of Julien" is a black China ink and pencil drawing on paper glued on ivory-colored cardboard, signed and dated by Flor David (1891-1958).
The artwork represents a portrait of Julien Bertheau (Comedie Francaise) "L'Homme des Cendres".
In excellent conditions: as good as new.
Sheet dimension: 37.2 x 50 cm
Image Dimensions: 27.5 x 31.8 cm
Realized in 1950, as it is reported on the lower right margin, this is an original drawing representing a model and showing a very rapid line and a synthetic touch with all the dignity of an autonomous artwork.
Flor David (1891-1958)): pseudonym of David Florence. Pastel painter. He was a pupil of Desirè Lucas. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Francais since 1923 and had honorable mention at Prix Leonie Dussueil in 1934. Repertoire en Benezit. Atelier Florence David.
