About the Item
A fine portrait of a young sea captain holding a telescope. The portrait appears to have been completed by two different hands. We believe the study of the head and face, completed in fine watercolour to be 19th century while the torso possibly has been finished and a later date in graphite. Well presented in a Hogarth frame. Unsigned. On paper.
