About the Item
This recent series of charcoal drawings by Henk Serfontein, MOMENTUM, is inspired by the work of Eadweard Muybridge. There is a play between realism and surrealism, with the almost palpable movement of the pages and the figures on the pages. The work is submerged in the poetry of light and shadow but his vision is acute and goes beyond the photo realistic. Every mark and every erasure acts as a poetic investigation.
