About the Item

Highly detailed and precise illustration of a 1966 Mercury Commuter Station Wagon by Joseph Yeager (American, 20th Century). Signed in the lower right portion of the illustration. This piece is on heavy cardstock. Presented in a new black mat. No frame. Joseph "Joe" Yeager (American, 20th Century) was raised in Cleveland Ohio, where he went to art school at night and started his art career at 19. He was a commercial artist for the Cleveland Press for seven years, and then worked as the paper’s art director for another seven. In the army, he was a technical research illustrator for the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics. He later moved to Medina, Ohio in 1941 and opened Joe Yeager Industrial Design in 1947. He also taught advanced perspective at the Cleveland School of Art.

He gained his education from the Beijing Education College of China in 1984, where he learned various techniques in drawing, watercolor, oil painting, sculpture, graphic design, and Chinese watercolor. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree, he became a fine arts teacher. During his eight years of teaching, he has taught hundreds of quality students, some becoming professional artists and cinematographers.
