Mid 20th Century Pastel - The Simple Things

About the Item

A serene still life in pastel showing a quiet moment for reading, with a cigarette and a beautiful arrangement of carnations and asparagus fern. The artist shoes a skilled hand in the crisp reflections in a piece of mirror laid over the open book. The artist has signed indistinctly to the lower right corner. Some of the signature has been rubbed away due to the movement of the pastel. The picture has been presented in an unglazed black frame with a white inner window.
