Threads of Resilience

2023

About the Item

"Threads of Resilience" is a captivating painting that portrays a black African woman sitting gracefully on a chair, her hand resting gently on the backrest. She wears a stunning Balenciaga dress adorned with intricate pieces of Ankara fabric around the neck and on the sleeves. The vibrant Ankara fabric adds a touch of cultural richness to the modern fashion. The inspiration behind this painting lies in the story of a young girl named Fatimah. Her adoration for the designer dress, so lovingly crafted with a fusion of styles, is palpable. However, fate took a cruel turn as the dress was stolen while hanging on a wire, where she had placed it to dry. Despite this misfortune, the painting captures the essence of Fatimah's resilience and unwavering spirit, showcasing her ability to embrace both the beauty of fashion and the challenges of life. "Threads of Resilience" serves as a tribute to the strength and grace that can emerge from even the most trying circumstances. Shipping Procedure Ships in a well-protected tube from Nigeria.
