Artist Comments
"The morning air is chilly just before dawn," Candice says of the setting for this dreamlike scene. "The trees are silhouettes and in heaven. This is a dream inside of another dream, in which there is a flock of birds. The birds morph from one variety to the next over a hazy landscape." To create the ethereal effect of the sky and heavens, Candice applied washes of acrylic paint to resemble encaustic. She contrasted this with the dark silhouetted landscape scene created with matte acrylic applied with cloth.
