Rare Vintage Judaica , extraordinary mosaic with sgraffito decorated ceramic tiles and Hebrew calligraphy by important ceramicist and mosaic artist David Holleman (b. 1927). Holleman was born in Massachusetts and studied at the Scott Carbee School of Art. He became acquainted with German Expressionism while serving in Berlin during World War II and was influenced by Carl Hofer, who inspired him to turn from paint to ceramics when he entered the Boston Museum School in 1948. In 2001, Suzan founded sei studio in SoHo with her husband, Brenden FitzGerald. They have collaborated with some of the industry’s most innovative architects and interior designers to produce custom chandeliers and art features for hundreds of landmark spaces, including the W Hotel Seoul, Mandarin Oriental New York, and Intercontinental Hong Kong. With more than 50 Years since his first exhibition in Spain, David Marshall has shown his highly individual work throughout Europe and United States. “ After all this years since my first show I am still fascinated by working in 3 dimensions – maybe because I cant draw or more likely because sculpture holds some obtuse subconscious obligation. It is still addictive and highly satisfying despite the onus of molding, casting, welding, polishing, fitting in a tough work environment before the final satisfaction of seeing the piece come together as envisaged.
