Despite international acclaim as one Cuba’s foremost living artists, Havana born Hector Frank never received a professional artistic education yet specialized in electronics. Now, in his artistic practice, Hector Frank employs a similar process to reveal a nation’s shared feelings, shared visions, shared dreams with a minimalist sophistication. Hector Frank employs in these works an understanding and appreciation of material quality and the potential for reuse that exists little outside of a place like Cuba, an understanding that has allowed him to create this aesthetically complex, multi-faceted new form of portraiture that poetically captures the essence of his people. Currently, living and working in Havana Cuba, Hector Frank has a professional following and defined respect within the creative art community in Havana. Internationally recognized, Hector Frank has collectors throughout the world and continues to grow demand after a series of sold out exhibitions at Toth Gallery in New York & San Francisco. Hector Frank has been recognized in Steadfast Magazine, Architectural Digest, Forbes Magazine, Departures Magazine, and the New York Times. Hector Frank has exhibited throughout Cuba and internationally in New York, Nashville, New Orleans, Paris, Mexico City, Malaysia, and London. Most recently, Hector Frank sold out his last exhibition in New York (2016), Art Basel 2017, and solo New York exhibitions in 2018 & 2019.

- Stanley Boxer Mixed Media Abstract Expressionist Painting on Paper, GoldBy Stanley BoxerLocated in Surfside, FLAbstract, 1987 Hand signed and dated verso Not sure of technique. this might be a monotype or monoprint with hand painting. The handmade paper is cut somewhat irregularly as per the artists intentions. Stanley Boxer (1926-May 8, 2000) was an American abstract expressionist artist best known for thickly painted abstract works of art. He was also an accomplished sculptor and printmaker. He received awards from the Guggenheim Fellowship and the National Endowment for the Arts. Boxer was born in New York City, and began his formal education after World War II, when he left the Navy and studied at the Art Students League of New York. He drew, painted, made prints, and sculpted. His work was recognized by art critic Clement Greenberg, who categorized him as a color field painter, A group that included Barnett Newman, Clyfford Still, and Mark Rothko and was a form of Abstract Expressionism and later included Helen Frankenthaler, Ad Reinhardt, Kenneth Noland, Gene Davis, Jules Olitski, Raymond Parker and Morris Louis. Boxer himself was adamant in rejecting this stylistic label. Over the years, he remained loyal to the materially dense abstract mode on which his reputation rested.. Art critic Grace Glueck wrote "Never part of a movement or trend, though obviously steeped in the language of Modernism, the abstract painter Stanley Boxer was a superb manipulator of surfaces, intensely bonding texture and color." In 1953 Boxer had his first solo exhibition of paintings in New York City, and showed regularly thereafter until his death. His paintings and sculpture were represented in New York City during the late 1960s through 1974 by the Tibor de Nagy Gallery, then by the André Emmerich Gallery from 1975 until 1993, and finally by Salander-O'Reilly Galleries until its demise in 2007. - Unconventional Still Life 22 X 30By Patricia Zinsmeister ParkerLocated in West Palm Beach, FLPainters who have tackled the genre of Still Life are awe inspiring to me. To name a few, Matisse, Cezanne and my favorite, Georgio Morandi, all of whom painted memorable still lifes. The content of a Nature Morte (French translation) usually consists of domestic, ubiquitous items that occupy a place in the home environment. My interest in this genre of painting began long ago and I have pursued it concomitantly with my larger abstract works. As an abstract painter, I find many corollaries between Abstraction and Realism. That’s not to say that my still life paintings are realistic or abstract but to be more accurate, artistic license allows me to invent my own brand of semi realism incorporated into ‘’The Stll Life’’. My goal in this body of work was to create a dynamic based on the juxtaposition of patterns and a bold, complementary palette-- resulting in a synergy of texture, animation and optical effects. As the work progressed, an organic evolution of ideas took over and the work became more reductive and less confrontational. Just a word about my titles. Some are ‘’tongue in cheek’’ and some are a sardonic take on the imagery but I spend a lot of time making sure the titles fit the idea behind the painting. Of course, viewer interpretation is always welcome. Patricia Zinsmeister Parker...Category
