With his works Helmut Lutter brings well-known superheroes and other icons to life. The plastic representations of in the form of massive reliefs and intricate details impress with their space-filling presence. Helmut Lutter's creative act starts with a massive sheet of steel. The close relationship to the material metal was already formed during his apprenticeship in a vintage and prototype workshop.
He finds inspiration for his stories in film and advertising posters, comic books and old magazines. From the two-dimensional, iconic representations, he constructs his own, entirely new image of these figures. Shapes, curves, edges, corners, and every silhouette is handcrafted custom work with artistic finesse. His tools: hammer and various iron sticks in different shapes and sizes to achieve the desired expression. You should not only see this energy, you should feel it.
