About the Item
Ferst is a colourist and abstractionist. For over 30 years he has created a variety of paintings that have been called juicy, flamboyant and full of life. Starting as a traditional landscape painter he has traveled extensively and been inspired by colour and nature to create a bounty of works collected all over the globe. His work has also been featured in a variety of media and shown as part off the US State Department ambassadorships. His 2011 work FDantasia was featured among an exhibit featuring works by Robert Indiana, Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns. His painting techniques vary from pure oil paint to using additional tools such as oil stick and oil pastel.And his subjects vary from gardens to street scenes to rurual landscapes. This painting is from travels in México to the incredible lagoon of 7 blues - Bacalar. The colors of the lagoon resinate in this painting. It is wired for hanging and all edges are painted black.
