Biography // Mixed media & fiber artist Kelly Kozma, grew up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and received her BFA from Moore College of Art & Design. She is represented by Paradigm Gallery + Studio in Philadelphia. Kozma has participated in several solo and group shows in Philadelphia, New York, Delaware, and Miami, Florida for Art Basel. Her current work combines drawing, painting and hand embroidery with elements of chance and probability to create vivid, pattern driven pieces.
Artist Statement // My work is extremely process driven. There are elements based on probability and chance, as well as ones that incorporate exceedingly planned out details. Often I use dice as a way of determining which colors to use, while other times I will draw a thousand tiny bricks by hand. Combining these methods creates an organic rhythm that could not exist if I were making all of the choices solely on my own accord.
