About the Item
Leonard Stokes is an American Postwar & Contemporary artist whose work consists of paper and digital collage. His early pieces contain harvested materials from books and prints, glued together to create surrealistic collage scenes. With a new wave of technology came an interest in creating collages with a scanner, computer, and digital camera. Recent work includes compositions that are made to appear as photos taken of arranged objects, when in reality these objects are collaged together after the fact. Stokes enjoys working with color, form, and light, creating fully digital works with little personal interpretation.
