Perico Pastor (1953) - Nude woman - Mixed media Paper measurements 33x24 cm. Frame measurements 57x48 cm. Perico Pastor (La Seu d'Urgell, 1953) is a Catalan painter, designer and illustrator. He studied in Barcelona in 1976 and then emigrated to New York, where he lived for about twelve years. He had great success, publishing his illustrations in magazines such as Harper, Village Voice, Vogue and especially the New York Times. In 1980 he held his first exhibition at the Cornelia Street Cafe in New York, and in 1983 he presented for the first time in a gallery, Estampa, Madrid. Since then, he has exhibited regularly in cities such as Paris, New York, Tokyo, Miami and Barcelona, ​​among others. Since 1989, he has lived in Barcelona, ​​dedicating himself completely to painting and illustration. He creates illustrations and opinion articles for newspapers such as El País, La Vanguardia, El Periódico de Cataluña and the International Herald Tribune. His illustrations have also been included in the Catalan Encyclopedia, being one of his greatest achievements. In 1993, he received the Morera Medal from the City of Lleida for his work, and in 1997 he obtained the Special Prize from the Spanish Olympic Committee at the Fine Arts Sports Biennial. With a unique approach, Perico Pastor has found the optimal fusion point between drawing and painting, regularly using low-weight paper with qualities of texture and lightness to enhance the values ​​of graphic ink or watercolor.
