The unique artwork on canvas is unstretched and unframed, ships in a roll. Stretching option available (additional fee will apply) Rafael Fuchs is a Brooklyn-based artist, photographer, director, curator, and producer. A recipient of many awards, he captured portraits and images of some of the most influential figures of the past 30 years, and these images embraced many magazines covers as well as became a part of distinctive private collections and Museums around the globe, as The National Portrait Gallery in London. (Portraits of JK Rowling and Emily Watson.) As an addition to his photography practice, Fuchs expanded his visual vocabulary starting In 2013 and incorporated photo collage works and mixed media into his repertoire. In these works on canvas, he is combining his own photography with his painting. Some of the exhibitions that featured these works were: “Biblical Tales” (2017) , at Fuchs Projects, Bklyn. “Zurich Diaries” (2018), Zurich Artist Residency, Zurich “Women R Beautiful” (2018-2021) at Fuchs Projects and Thames Art Center, Bklyn. “Death of A Hipster” (2019-2020) Galleri Wärme, Copenhagen “Billionaire” (2021) Thames Art Center, Bklyn, NY Some of the private collections that have been collecting his work are: ElephanArt, Zurich, Munger collection, NYC, Rema Hort Mann Foundation, NYC Alain Servais collection, Belgium Me Collectors Room, Berlin. and more. Amongst the long list of figures that he captured are Burt Reynolds, Mary J. Blige, Colin Powell, George Steinbrenner, Frank Stella, Paul Cadmus, JK Rowling, Barry Diller, Heather Graham, Julia Stiles, Emily Watson, Pink, John Cameron Mitchell, Sir Jonathan I've, Beyonce, Destiny’s Child, Patty Hearst, Malcolm McLaren, Nathan Lane, Regis Philbin, Larry King, Ang Lee, Howard Bloom, George Plimpton, Grand Master Flash, Dave Eggers, John McCain, Derek Jeter, Steve Case, Bob Denver (Gilligan), James Marsden, Geoffrey Rush, Bobby Flay, Tony Bennett, Alber Elbaz, Arlo Guthrie, Darren Aronofsky…to name a few. Rafael was Born in Tel Aviv, and got his BFA at Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem. He has been participating actively in various group shows and art fairs, and had 21 solo shows between 2006-2021. He resides in Bklyn, NY, and creates his bodies of works between NY-Zurich-Copenhagen-Tel Aviv-Berlin.
