Flight, 2022 collage on paper 35 H x 50 W cm Signed on reverse Raluca Arnăutu dreams the world through collages. A collage, dreamlike and surreal, populated by thousands of pieces of paper, textiles, pieces of plastic, found or made objects, which intertwine on the paper support and as in a well-controlled and thought puzzle give birth to a new universe. The new series of collages created between 2021-2023 from the solo show "Dream on" continues the artist's formal concerns and introspective research from previous works. The novelty comes from the increasingly effervescent richness of the characters' imaginations and the large dimensions. The artist's collages describe states, situations, desires, emotions, fragments of thoughts and stories full of an ineffable self-content. Thus, more or less real characters are born, living among trees and psychedelic flowers, populating distant galaxies. The artwork was exhibited in 2023 in the museum solo show "Dream on" and was reproduced in the exhibition catalogue.
