About the Item
Artist Comments
This painting was created at the same time as the piece "Waiting for the Sun," using similar painterly brushwork and a soft color palette. The stylistic pair look nice hung together. Part of David's current series capturing the beauty of Cincinnati public parks and the abundance of scenic locations. A cozy gazebo nestled in a grove of trees. The color palette uses complementary areas of red and green.
About the Artist
David Forsthoefel uses an impressionistic approach to celebrate the variety of Midwest geology, fauna and seasonal color. He strives to capture an integrated blend of shape, color and tone that revels in the abstract qualities of the paint itself. David is a native of Dayton, Ohio, and now lives in Cincinnati. His interest in the visual arts began at a very young age, with early forays into drawing with Jon Gnagy and his Learn to Draw series on television. This first exposure sparked a life-long search for artistic expression that included a BA in Fine Arts at the University of Louisville, and a career as a commercial illustrator and designer. Since retiring, he has devoted much of his artistic energy to painting the natural landscape in and around Cincinnati. He is a Signature Member of the Cincinnati Art Club, the Lexington Art Guild of Florida and the Transparent Watercolor Society. When not in his home studio, David helps care for his six grandchildren. He says he also has a serious golf habit that takes him outside to observe nature.

- Morning Moon and Cloud Cover, Oil PaintingBy Onelio MarreroLocated in San Francisco, CA
Artist Comments
Working from memory, artist Onelio Marrero paints a full moon in the early morning hours over the salt marshes in coastal New Jersey. The silvery glow in the early morning hours reflects dreamily onto still waters. "These wetlands are profoundly affected by the tides," says Onelio. "The channels that meander throughout the marshes invite the viewer to visually follow the bends and turns." There is a timeless and mysterious quality in these natural elements and Onelio's memory of the scene is well served in the execution of this painting.About the Artist
Onelio Marrero paints city scenes of everyday life. In an impressionistic style he captures the romanticism of New York City, the picturesque fountains in Central Park and the wet city streets after a rainy afternoon. His use of warm tones creates a sense of nostalgia and the feeling that you have visited or seen this particular scene before. Onelio will often paint from direct observation, or he will work from a combination of photographs and combine numerous sources into one piece. In this way his work combines reality with fantasy, creating a new story with each painting. His work captures an appreciation for beauty in all of its greatest forms; nature, art, and people.Words that describe this painting: marsh, wetland, swamp, inlet, waterway, stream, river, grass, tree, cloud, moon, mist, morning, water, reflection, dawn, impressionism, oilpaint, panoramic, nature, impressionism, nature, oil painting, blue
