The wistfulness for the days spent at Marlia with the Countess (renewed by the photos that Countess has sent to him), and the invitation to his Alcool show, are the topics of this letter, visually studied with puzzles of letters and create with a composition, as if it was an artwork, which take inspiration from the Calligrams of Apollinaire.
Marcoussis is the pseudonym of the French-born Polish painter Ludwig Casimir Markus, who come from a wealthy Jewish family in Warsaw. He moved to Paris in 1903 and gained French nationality thanks to the value demonstrated during World War I.
