About the Item
Artist Comments
Artist Mandy Main depicts a sunny seascape with a diagonal beach line and coastal mountains receding into the distance. Ethereal clouds sweep the sky and reflect the warm-toned sand and the water below. A couple walks their dog close to a dark, eye-catching shape where the mountains are reflected in the distant, shallow water. A soothing palette of grays, muted blues, and greens contrast with soft oranges. The atmospheric perspective pulls the eye deep into the painting.
About the Artist
Mandy Main is an art historian and landscape painter based in the Southern California desert. She has long been passionate about 19th Century American landscape paintings, which has been influential in her artistic practice. Mandy works in series, generally three paintings at a time. Her process begins with a vision of a place she has been, but she takes creative liberties with the aesthetic details. The artist is captivated by light and shadow, and strives to instill her work with moody drama through the representation of these elements. Using layers of paint and glazes, Mandy achieves mesmerizing atmospheric depth, encouraging the viewer to gaze and be still.

- Water World High NoonBy Suzanne MassionLocated in San Francisco, CA
Artist Comments
A favorite subject of mine is the wetlands found hidden in a tall grass prairie. As marsh, lake, fen, and pond stretch to a distant tree line, my paintbrush heeds the challenge. I know time here is fleeting as the sun rises to its zenith.About the Artist
When the land changes, Suzanne Massion;s paintings will remind you of the way it once was. She drives the back roads through the tall grass prairies and farmland of her native Illinois, stopping to paint en plein air when the moment strikes. She feels like she;s in a race to save a disappearing treasure as buildings burn or open space is paved over. Suzanne donates a portion of her sales to fund local land conservation efforts.Water World...
