About the Item
We think that this sketchbook was done by the sister of Catherine Board, whose collection we feature. We acquired it along with the the Catherine Board collection. Some of Catherine's works are dated 1829 or 1830. The handwriting of the two artists is very similar and the sketchbooks are very similar in construction and are of similar date. This sketchbook contains eight graphite studies of buildings and landscapes and has been signed "Miss J Board" on the inside front cover. On wove.
