The sky's shifting evening colors reflect on a quiet pond. The water lilies pick up various hues as they recede into the shadier reaches near the reeds. Fluid strokes and subtle colors capture the scene's tranquility. The artwork is part of artist Onelio Marerro's series that explores bodies of water and aquatic plants.
About the Artist
Artist Onelio Marrero paints impressionist scenes of everyday life. Whether he captures the romanticism of New York City or the soothing quiet of a rippling pond, he infuses each piece with the visual magic of the moment. He creates a sense of nostalgia and intimacy with his work, offering the feeling that you have visited the same place before. “Each play of light, each texture, and each movement of a figure can have a captivating effect on me,†says Onelio. He studied at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, where he mastered discerning color and values—giving him the tools to create work with superb spontaneous appearance. Onelio’s work is an appreciation for beauty in all its grandest forms; nature, art, and people.
