I spent some time in a sculpture garden in Austin, Texas this year. A beautiful mermaid sculpture was planted amid the trees, flora and water. When I stepped away from this painting I was happily reminded of her presence.
About the Artist
Painter Robin Okun expresses the human figure in a contemporary style with emotionally intuitive presentation. Robin embraces the body as a sacred vessel that demands honor, respect, and love. She layers charcoal and acrylic paint with vibrant colors, bold shapes, and fluid lines to depict forms inspired by live models, photographs, and sculpture.
