About the Item
Catherine Woskow’s abstract paintings exhibit a bold rawness that the artist draws from her own inner world, with her thoughts and emotions on view as a visceral expression in each of her works. With a mix of thick acrylic, fluid glazes, and thin lines of graphite layered over the top of wooden panels, Woskow’s “Head Series” molds both layers of paint and thought to express the randomness and disorder of the mind.
Within this series, Woskow strives to express the interplay between the inner dialogue of the mind and the intuitive guidance of the body, and the complex struggle amid the two. Her works display certainty of line, and her daring linear elements sweep and dance across the across each panel, generating a refined chaos.
