About the Item
"Lunar Landing" is a contemporary abstract expressionism drip painting in the style of Jackson Pollock with predominant colors of pink, violet, & blue. It is framed with all hanging hardware attached, and is wired be hung horizontally or vertically. It is signed and dated on the back.
Dennis Alter's layered and textured oil on canvas paintings are rich with painterly activity. Gestural brushwork, heavy impasto, and layers upon layers of color lend a complexity to each work that invites multiple approaches to viewing. Alter's experimental use of painting tools and techniques -- scraping, carving, impressing, dripping -- play an important role in the process of discovery. He describes this effect in "Lunar Landing:"

They can also be found in numerous private collections.
