About the Item

"Rapture" by Jenny Hahn one-of-a-kind acyrlic on canvas painting 24 x 24" image size, gallery wrapped with black painted sides A sensual abstract blend of yellows, earth tones, greens and blues creating a surreal design that suggests mystery and fluidity of form. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Jenny Hahn is a professional artist whose work captures the inward journey through bold, colorful expression. She received a BFA in illustration from the Kansas City Art Institute and exhibits her work nationally. Her studio is located at the Bauer Machine Works building in Kansas City’s Crossroads arts district. Jenny co-founded and co-owns Creative Nectar Studio, a safe haven for creative self-discovery, and facilitates workshops across the country that help people rediscover their wholeness using painting as a tool for self-discovery. Jenny is also an avid practitioner of insight meditation, a freelance graphic designer, and a lover of nature and traveling. Her intention as an artist is to uplift and inspire the world with images that feed the heart and soul. "Painting is my connection to the mystery. When I show up to the canvas, I am aware of a profound creative energy over which I have little control, but through which I am continually humbled and amazed as I let go and ‘trust the process’. I feel that I am co-creating with a force greater than myself. My work could be described as a mirror to a deep inner reality, as well as a reflection of the expansive universal. The deeper within we go, the more we find our vast, innate oneness. My daily meditation practice and love of nature and color informs my process. I paint in vibrant color mostly using acrylics, either on stretched canvas or on board. Working layer upon layer, I allow the images and symbols to emerge organically and shift as they develop. It often feels like I’m receiving the image rather than creating it—like a midwife bringing new life into the world. My intention is that the work will speak to the viewer on a profound, soul level—stirring curiosity and instilling joy." - Jenny Hahn
