Mixed Media on fine linen 84"w x68"
Keith Carrington’s experiences have led him to express his talents through the fluid & exacting mediums of watercolor and ink. He has honed his skills, clarified his vision, experimented, explored and expanded his expression steadily over the years, the results of which thus far culminate here. Keith’s extensive travels have roots in the luminous quality of his work, eminently holding the unlimited possibilities of beauty and significance. Keith’s most recent paintings combine original comic book renderings that his mother did for Disney et al. and reinterprets them effectively combining the past with present energies and infuses his enthusiasm into these dynamic pieces that you see here today.

Untitled No. 63 Abstract Composition Mixed Media
By Michael David
Located in Lake Worth Beach, FL
Untitled No 63, abstract composition 1987
Mixed media on wood panel, wax, oil, paper. signed with initials, gallery label.
Abstract painter Michael David is best known for his use of encaustic, a technique that incorporates heated beeswax and pigment. Considered an inheritor of Abstract Expressionism, David’s abstract work primarily centers on the use of a densely layered surface to facilitate a direct and immediate spiritual experience. He often incorporates religious iconography and symbolism, art historical themes such as the nude, and contemporary politics into his paintings resulting in a critical dialogue between the layered abstraction of the surface and the integrated representational imagery. Alongside his work on canvas, David has developed a body of studio photography that recreates paintings by Caravaggio, Manet, and Mantegna, among others, in works that confront racism, homophobia, and sexism. David also works in mixed media and environmental sculpture...

BIO
Chuck Hipsher is interested in the gesture or movement involved in the act of creating his artworks. His mind and mood drive the process from start to finish determining color, scale, composition, and ultimately, the finished state. He believes nothing is precious, that all is subject to change, and depends on state of mind during the development. His abstract paintings indicate the tension between motion and rest, with a vibrancy of color and stroke. Hipsher attended the University of Iowa and School of the Art Institute Chicago...
