"Armonia" 2018
Oil paint, Acrylic paint, Mixed Media, Canvas, Stretcher bars
The artist signed the painting on the back of the canvas.
"Armonia" is a captivating abstract painting by the renowned artist Masri, measuring 60" x 48". This piece showcases Masri's signature approach to color and composition, blending oil and acrylic to create a dynamic interplay of forms and hues. The palette is bold and expressive, featuring deep blacks, vivid blues, fiery reds, and luminous yellows set against a crisp white background. The title, Italian for 'harmony', reflects the balanced chaos within the piece, where every stroke and splash of color is meticulously placed to evoke a sense of orchestrated vibrancy. The painting's versatility allows it to be displayed both vertically and horizontally, adapting seamlessly to various spaces and decor styles. Masri's mastery in manipulating colors and forms comes through vividly, making "Armonia" a standout work that captures both the eye and the imagination.
About the Artist:
Masri is a passionate Italian, US-based artist whose work has been exhibited in the USA, the UK, Germany, Lebanon, Italy, and Norway. His work is varied and known especially in Europe and in Major collections - Ellen DeGeneres, Ringo Starr, Al Gore, and many more. Harnessing an insatiable desire for artistic discovery, innovation, and perfection, he dives into experimentation with openness and enthusiasm. As a result, his works are bright, expansive, and bold. Masri has developed a style that captures the Middle Eastern mood with a Lucien Freud brush touch. This style is completed with palette work, as the artist often goes into a trance-like state when creating these powerful expressions of the human experience.
Artist statement:
"I live four seasons every day - it is a humongous world of perceptions, conceptions, and achievements; a world of renewable psychological input and output fraught with flowing emotions, endurance, and pain. "
The painting comes with a certificate of authenticity and a letter of appraisal.

Masri Hayssam's artistic journey is a testament to his commitment to self-expression and exploration. He is a master of paintings of the raw human condition.

Born in 1922 in Damietta, and in 1945 he got his degree from the Higher Institute of Educational Art. In 1947, he participated in establishing the influential Group of Modern Art. In 1949 he participated in the Egyptian exhibition in Paris. In 1950, he received the Full Bright award for studying art at Minnesota University. He then studied at Colombia University in NY and began exhibiting his work in NY and Minnesota from 1951-1952. He participated in 1953 in the Biennale of Sao Paulo in Brazil. After, he started exhibiting his work in Columbus and Washington DC.
Y.Sida’s work at the start was mainly dealing with popular Egyptian themes. We can distinguish Sida’s work through his power of using primary colors in its purest form directly in the tubes without being mixed with other colors. Also, we can notice in his work a tendency towards the qualities and techniques of children’s art.
In his later years, Sida began experimenting with Arabic Calligraphy by concentrating on the forms and shapes that are dominant in the popular Egyptian motives and décor. We can witness the dynamism in his Arabic calligraphy work. Sida is also known for his huge murals...
