About the Item

Artist Comments
A modern abstract constructed in bright and incandescent colors within a whitewashed space. "I paint standing up with the painting lying flat so I can control the paint application better," explains artist Patrick O'Boyle. "Using fluid acrylics, I apply layers and layers of color, scraping, scratching and painting back into it to reveal subtle texture, color, shape and patterns." This painting is part of his signature Ethereal Abstraction series.

About the Artist
Patrick O'Boyle primarily paints in a studio, rarely using reference material other than his own thoughts and dreams. He always paints in a series of five - at the end of the fifth painting he revisits and reworks all of them until he feels they're complete. Using extra-long handles on his brushes, Patrick paints at a distance from the canvas so he can see the works evolve as a whole from the one color he starts with to the vibrant array at the end.

Blue Landscape II
By Pat Forbes
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
I see blue as a seminal color representing life in all its forms.

About the Artist
Pat Forbes is an abstract painter whose aesthetic is heavily influenced by her 20 years as a collector and dealer of Middle Eastern textiles. Pat, who lives on the Atlantic Ocean in Massachusetts, uses a neutral palette to present her interpretation of the world around her– from marshes and mountains to stones and spiderwebs. She is drawn to pattern and design, both of which influence the use of balanced repetition in her work. Pat’s muted colors invite pensive meditation, while her deliberate use of line guides the eye through satisfyingly symmetrical compositions.

Old City, Abstract Painting
By Pat Forbes
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
Artist Pat Forbes depicts an abstract landscape with large towering structures under a murky atmosphere. "This piece reflects on the pleasures of traveling, and the joy of experiencing new and exciting places," says Pat. Uneven lines make up chunks of large structural shapes drawn close to one another. A green glowing sphere shines above the city that features prominent hues of blue, green, and yellow.
