Shiri Phillips
Reflections Through The Looking Glass No. 13 - Textural Colorful Abstract Art

2022

About the Item

Impasto-painted strokes of bright colors are the framework of artist Shiri Phillips’ abstract artworks. Her paintings are flooded with texture through the layering of acrylic paint in fluent brushstrokes. Inspired by the vibrant surroundings she found growing up on the Mediterranean and the Southern Californian Coast, Phillips is driven by the philosophy of “color is life”. Her works have been influenced by impressionism and the geometric nature of graphic design. This one-of-a-kind painting is 12 inches square. It is wired and ready to hang. The sides of this expressive abstract artwork are painted white. It does not require framing. It is signed by the artist on the front and back. Convenient local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping are available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included with this original artwork. The tactile quality of the texture in Phillips' artworks adds depth and contrast, movement, and rhythm. “My art is paired with intent, delivering pieces that hope to give the viewer the comfort of structure, along with the emotional release of abstraction. By overlaying the various mediums in an abstracted or impressionistic way, I hope to create a unique and vivid experience for the viewer.” Born in Los Angeles, Phillips relocated to Israel at an early age and returned to the United States to finally settle in Omaha, Nebraska. Phillips has made a strong and swift impact since she started exhibiting her artworks. Her international experiences shape her colorful paintings. Her rapidly growing collector base shares her love for artworks that burst with energy beyond the canvas to fill any space with positivity and joy. Within a short time her works have already been exhibited in galleries and art fairs throughout the United States, including in New York and Los Angeles. Artspace Warehouse has been representing and exhibiting Shiri Phillips' original artworks since 2021. Shades of dark magenta and purple contrast with rich creams in this abstract composition. Paint has been built up in layers and then sanded back to reveal the history of the piece, and to create a surface full of depth and visual interest. The bold mark-making and shapes bring a lively contrast. The work is presented in a natural wood tray frame, not a wide border frame as in the in situ photos. Seven Apples: abstract still life interior painting, red apples on green & gray
By Mat Tomezsko
Located in Bryn Mawr, PA
This is an original sill life interior painting of fruit (apples) with a geometric fractured composition. The artist made the painting one section at a time. When working on one section, the artist would block off the rest of the composition so the objects and background needed to be placed again. By building the composition this way, the background and table appear at different levels and the shapes don't quite align. These imperfections convey a sense of passing time. In each section, the tone of the light changes, and the shadows switch directions. The apples and geometric shapes were chosen as much for metaphorical value as for aesthetics. A seemingly simple arrangement in a familiar painting genre contains a depth of observation, artistic choices, and interpretation. This painting is signed and dated on the back. Includes all hanging hardware and ready to install; no need for additional framing. Mat...
