TAMEN, Lai Shengyu & Yang Xiaogang (1978, Hunan, China) Education: Central Academy of Fine arts, Beijing, China (2004) Lai Shengyu and Yang Xiaogang form the artist duo Tamen, which means “they” in Mandarin. Ta Men+. ‘An epoch of the late 70’s generation, THEY reveal their attitudes toward realities of society and their circumstances in a different approach from the artists of the older generation. THEY, through interior and conflicting juxtaposition, displays contradictory nature of society that is both corrupt and progressive. However, they do not reject nor expresses any sarcasm toward the real world seen outside the window. Individuals are merely consuming or entertaining themselves.

Oxydation II
By Jean-Pierre Rives
Located in Miami, FL
Born 1952, Saint Simon, France
Jean-Pierre Rives is an internationally renowned sculptor, and painter, as well as a Hall of Fame rugby player.
After retiring from rugby in the early 1980s, he discovered the work of sculptor Albert Feraud. Discussions with the artist inspired him to pursue his own art practice, working scraps of abandoned steel into fluid, curvaceous forms.
In his frequently monumental work, the softness of the curve is juxtaposed against the hardness of the material. Rives says about his practice, "I always seek to bring 'lightness' to the ‘heavy'; romanticism and poetry to the rigid; and sculpt an industrial masterpiece that harnesses innovation with energy. My sculptures are pieces of reality: their rust marks a measure of time, honouring the past while celebrating the future."
Rives has exhibited his work in galleries, museums, and public spaces around the world including the Jardin du Luxembourg in Paris (an honour previously held exclusively by Rodin), Sculpture by the Sea (a renowned international public sculpture exhibition in Sydney, Australia), and Dag Hammarskjold...

Lighten Up - 24"x30" - Abstracted Chandelier Painting, Grey, Beige, White, Blue
By Andrea Stajan-Ferkul
Located in Mississauga, Ontario
Lighten Up - This is an abstracted style chandelier painting combining delicate detail with intuitive abstract brush work. Tonal layers build up a textured surface evoking visual movement, and form small paintings within the larger canvas. The blend of literal and abstract elements keep the eye engaged, with an outcome both expressive and refined.

Andrea Stajan-Ferkul is a Canadian artist whose work conveys a sense of experimentation through the use of paint, fabric collage and abstract mark-making. While not exclusive to fashion, dresses have been a compositional focus throughout her oeuvre. With an emphasis on timelessness, her series of dress paintings shift between realistic representation and interpretive impressions. In contrast, her series of abstract works embrace minimalism, considerate to a restrained palette and composition.
Stajan-Ferkul began her career in fashion advertising before shifting her focus to fine art in 2000. Her work has been exhibited widely through galleries and art fairs, and hangs in private and public collections across Canada, US and Europe. A graduate of Sheridan College of Art and Design, Stajan-Ferkul's paintings can be found in numerous public and private collections, her work has been published in magazines and book covers, and prints are distributed internationally. In 2009, Stajan-Ferkul was invited to exhibit her work in Ottawa’s Rideau Hall, hosted by (then) Governor General of Canada, Michaëlle Jean.
