About the Item

Colorful abstract expressionist work in the style of Willem de Kooning. Painting has various forms that appear to look like human figures with sketched images of hand guns. Painting has mostly blue, red, and pink tones. Painting is framed in a wooden frame with damage to the left side. Dimensions without frame: H 23 in x W 29.5 in. Artist Biography: Petur Halldorsson is from Iceland. He finds his inspiration from nature, mostly the way the sun creates patterns among surfaces. He studied at Iceland Academy of the Arts from 1969 to 1973. Than in 1975 to 1976 he studied at Middlesex University in London. He moved to New York and studied at the School of Visual Art in 1987. He is known for producing colorful expressionist works. He works with collages to oil paint to ink drawings.
