Binay Sinha
Amateur Conclusions - Contemporary Diptych Mixed Media Violet + Green + Blue

2020

About the Item

"Amateur Conclusions" is a contemporary work of art by Indian artist, Binay Sinha. His surrealistic style captures the balance of flora & fauna, man kind and city elements. This diptych depicts birds, shrubbery, barbed wire and a figure. On the left panel the barbed wire is wrapped around greenery holding a peacock. The right panel shows an armed man surrounded by plants & birds placing the viewer in a very conflicting scene. Sinha longing for the natural environment himself incorporates trees, flowers and animals into his works. These works have a muted background with the main imagery vivid and colorful commanding for attention and consideration. From the artist: "This complex and hostile relationship with neighboring countries due to a number of historical and political events. The South Asian region is full of contradictions, disparities and paradoxes. In the post-colonial period, the South Asia has been a theatre of bloody inter-state as well as civil wars; it has witnessed liberation movements, nuclear rivalry, military dictatorships and continues to suffer from insurgencies, religious fundamentalism and terrorism." "My art practice tries to understand the relationship between nature and human existence in the contemporary world. The rapid development has confused the culture. Human dependence on nature has been described in India and all the ancient civilizations of the world. Ayurveda (The Science of Life) also describes the laws of nature and nature’s dependence for human health. but currently, we have become indifferent to nature. Apathy towards nature has increased due to urbanization and increasing population. The greenery is shrinking, the cities are spreading. Like many Indians, I too had to migrate from my place to a big city for a living. And I can feel the pain of getting away from nature. By depicting the contemporary theme with the help of Rajasthani miniature technique, I have tried to embody this feeling. Which is an experience of keeping traditionalism alive in contemporary art. I have used water and acrylic color on paper. My work is in sets that present the content in a variety of ways." -Binay Sinha We will ship this via standard parcel boxed with internal support to maintain the integrity of the piece.
