Hans Guerin
Deer in a sunny landscape in the old master realist style 30 x 24 by Hans Guerin

About the Item

"Leery Deeries" an oil landscape of deer is painted by Hans Guerin, a descendent of the founder of the respected Schuler School of Fine Arts which trains students in the methods and techniques of the European Old Masters. A majestic Buck is guarding his family of deer with an egret in the background, all enjoying the sunny day. In Hans Guerin's words, many of his oil paintings are intended "to evoke the relaxing feelings of slowing down time and urgency, free of the stresses of modern day American life." Han Guerin wants viewers to be attracted to his landscapes from across the room and hold their attention when they are up close with details and subtle nuances. Most of his art has an intrinsic meaning to him, yet he aims to please the audience with beauty and skill in execution whether or not they interpret its internal significance the way he intended.
