Large Modern French acrylic on canvas of a 'gaggle' of geese by Jean-Jacques Marais. Signed and dated bottom left.
A bright and joyful painting of a group of geese (a gaggle) enjoying themselves in a meadow full of fresh grass and spring flowers. We can almost hear the honking and cries of the birds as they mix and mingle together. Marais has captured the hustle and bustle of the scene, birds standing, some birds sitting, the texture of their feathers their gnarly feet and distinctive orange beaks. A really successful composition beautifully executed.
Jean-Jacques Marais devoted himself entirely to the practice of his art and regularly participated in numerous fairs and exhibitions throughout France. In 2015 at the Grand Palais in Paris, he received the 2015 Golden Canvas awarded by the National Federation of French Culture for his diptych "Les Vagues 2"; The fair exhibited the works of 2,500 international painters. In 2017 and 2018, again at the Grand Palais, he became a member of the painters of the Taylor Paris Foundation. His creations in acrylic or pastel are part of the figurative movement, emotional, sensitive and intimate paintings.
