About the Item
Hart of mine is an original oil painting by Sophie Harden. Contrasted blues and fawns on a coral background gives this piece a huge pop of colour and sense of movement the stag stands proud looking out to the room. Framed on a floating mount within a white textured wooden wooden frame which compliments the overall vibrancy of this painting. Sophie’s contemporary and fluid technique allows movement to flood the painting, from the explosive energy and grace of animals to the small details that captures a moment in time. Sophie works to accentuate the adaptation of light, making the viewer perceive a 3D object from often just small marks and brushstrokes.
Sophie Harden original and prints are available at Wychwood Art both online and in the gallery. Having left corporate life behind in 2016, Sophie decided to make the brave move into the art world. At first, concentrating in producing animal commissions and after a busy Christmas in 2016, she began to grow it into a creditable career. Nearly four years down the line Sophie hasn’t looked back, with her unique style selling well in London and local galleries, with private work and commissions being sold and shipped worldwide. Sophie’s subjects hail from her passion and love for animals, sporting events and travel. As a keen rider Sophie surrounds herself by all equine life which inevitably has led to quite an equestrian theme running through her work. With travel in her blood each trip is evolved around the animals she discovers with a regular trips to Africa to inspire her work. Sophie has exhibited in Belgravia, London at Osborne Studio Gallery at The Mall Galleries, London at The Art For Youth, at the Edinburgh Art Festival and supports local galleries with her work. Her contemporary and fluid technique allows movement to flood the painting, from the explosive energy and grace to the small details that capture a moment in time. Often using a contrast of white oil on bright background colours, Sophie works to accentuate the adaptation of light, making the viewer perceive a 3D object from often just small marks and brushstrokes.

- Sheep, South Downs, last day of June II, Animal Painting, Countryside ArtLocated in Deddington, GBSheep, South Downs, last day of June II is an original landscape painting by Anna Pinkster. It was inspired by time spent sketching and roaming on the South Downs in East Sussex. I loved seeing the sea glistening in the background. Throughout my career my work has been inspired by my environment - the people, places and cultures that surround me. Following graduation from West Surrey College of Art in 1994 with a first class degree, I traveled extensively in India, South East Asia and Africa creating figurative work which endeavoured to capture people immersed in their daily lives, offering an insight into the essence of a different culture. Commuters in London and bathers on the beaches of Dorset have also inspired my work but, during the national Covid lockdown, I became fascinated by my local landscape in Somerset. I have since visited Wales and the South Downs, creating work in oils and charcoal, working directly from life then refining ideas in the studio. I am most excited working intuitively, directly from life, whether it be a life model in the studio, a flock of sheep in a field or, my most recent obsession, birds in my garden - I find an intense energy and freedom which, I hope, is evident in my work. I have exhibited regularly in London at the Mall galleries SWA, RP, NEAC and Pastel Society, and in the South West, winning prizes including the Prince of Wales Drawing...Category
