Chris McAdoo
Rocket #13

About the Item

Rocket #13 is a painting showcasing a '52 Oldsmobile 303 V8 HP Rocket 88 - also an iconic Rock n Roll tune "Rocket 88" by Jackie Brenston. The neon and pastel colors of pink and teal, along with the fluid paint, embody the memory of McAdoo's late uncle. "Memories of my uncle come screaming back like a roaring V8 engine…he was a car guy. An old school Clinton Highway Broadway car guy. And he loved to race. Fountain city . The car was a beauty, a legend, and it was green - he called it the green hornet. My cousin is 12 years older than me and I remember that he went to college in NEW YORK CITY when I was just a kid and I thought: AMAZING. I’m just a kid living in the middle of nowhere with a mullet, and he really got me thinking…how far can someone go?"
