The torrid sun, the infinite blue of the sea, the warmth of summer days, and ordinary people caught in moments of relaxation create an idyllic world far from the noise and anxiety of everyday life. These solar moments of typical life painted on small surfaces are unusual for the artist Alexandru Rădvan, whose work is mainly on large canvases.
About this new cycle of works, painted almost entirely in 2022, the artist confessed: "Most, if not all, of what I do has its driving force, its core, in the constant and often unconscious desire to be somewhere else than I am. Of being someone else? No, I'm pleased, I'm fine with "who I am", it's just that this "I" always wants to be somewhere else, always dreams of escapes, of a kind of peace and intensity that it doesn't find in the immediate reality..."
