Subsequently, Robert Funk Fine Art LLC purchased it from a private collection in the United States Observed in Frame: Overall excellent condition to the naked eye for work over 125 years. The canvas has been relined, and the painting appears to have been cleaned. When inspected under UV light, there is "definitive" inpainting on her left foot. There is also "potential" inpainting on the sitter's left jaw and "potential" inpainting on a lock of hair over her forehead. However, this could be by the hand of the artist as he may have reworked the painting. . There are some other "potential" tiny dots of inpainting throughout.
