François LEGRAND Les Ombres
About the Item
Born in 1951, François Legrand was introduced to painting as a teenager by Philippe Lejeune in Etampes.
In 1973, he moved to Loiret. From 1974 to 1978, he taught at the Institut d'Arts Visuels d'Orléans, then at the ESI in Rabat, in 1979. On his return from Morocco, he devoted himself entirely to painting on his farm in Beauce. From 1995 to 2011, he divided his time between France and Spain.
Since 2011, he lives and works in Paris and in the Loiret.
He is knight of the Legion of Honor, Official Painter of the Army and Navy, vice-president of the Taylor Foundation and head of the “Figuration Inevitable” group of the Comparisons show at the Grand Palais.
