Classic contemporary lemons still life by Italian fine artist

2006

About the Item

Gianluca Corona is a still-life and portraiture contemporary Italian painter who looks for the inner truth of what he paints. His beautiful fruits, flowers, vegetables, and food subjects are appreciated because of his technical expertise, his well-thought compositions, and the exceptional treatment of light, giving the painting a modern gaze and beauty.
Interestingly he is an equally skilled drawer and painter.  The quality of his oil paintings has been recognized internationally and even most of his artworks belong in private collections we can see permanently some of his paintings in The Bank Collection, the most significant Italian institutional figurative art collection, Bassano del Grappa, Italy.
His portraits and their quality is the result of the profound personal investment he makes to see and reveal the beauty and grace that lies within each person.  Gianluca Corona benefits from the technical skill and material knowledge of the old masters to present a new gaze and vision of still-life paintings. He adheres to the canons of the new realism aimed at establishing the importance of figuration in contemporary art. The artist is therefore able to combine traditional materials and techniques with a contemporary fresh and unique interpretation of his subjects, as such, he is one of the most popular contemporary Italian painters in the realistic style. His works are represented worldwide by Salamon Fine Art, an art gallery in Milan. Gianluca Corona was born in Milan, the city where he still lives and works, in 1969 and graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in 1991. From ‘94 to ’96 he further trained as an apprentice in the studio of Mario Donizetti in Bergamo. Following his studies, he started his professional career, establishing himself on the artistic scene as a leading figure of the young Italian figurative art movement. He has held several exhibitions in Italy and abroad and his works are present in public as well as private collections. Furthermore, his paintings are continuously used by the record company Musicmedia to illustrate the covers of their CDs. His works have been praised by some of the most important Italian critics, such as Alberto Agazzani, Franco Basile, Graziano Campanini, Vladek Cwalinski, Carlo Franza, Gilberto Grilli, Gianfranco Lelj, Mario Marcarini, Pietro C. Marani, Alessandro Riva, and Maurizio Sciaccaluga.

  • Mighty oak on a gold-leaf background by Italian botanical artist
    By Margherita Leoni
    Located in Milan, IT
The artist has an elegant mark of nature, and the experience of working en plein air allows her to capture emotions that would otherwise not be possible. She is considered Italy's best botanical artist and collaborates with many botanical gardens where she also holds watercolour courses, a technique she masters like few contemporary artists. The artist herself prepared the background in real, stainless gold, which gives it a modern, warm surface that chameleonically matches the colours of the surrounding walls. Margherita Leoni was born and raised in Italy, however, she spent most of her adult life in San Paulo, Brazil. It was there that she started a collaboration with the botanical faculty of the local university, allowing her to develop interesting research in rare botanical species studies and drawings. For this reason, most of her artworks, illustrate Brasilian botanical species, both rare and common. The artist's mastery of watercolour allows her to take part in botanical expeditions where she paints in plein air. Given her exquisite watercolour technique and her extensive botanical knowledge, Margherita Leoni is considered the heir of Margaret Mee. Among her most important exhibitions, three of her artworks were selected by Shirley Sherwood...

  • Tulips in red and yellow in Red Vase -21st Century Realistic Flower Painting
    By Joran van der Haar
    Located in Nuenen, Noord Brabant
Joran van der Haar Red vases with Tulips 120 x 120 cm ( framed 130 x 130 cm, frame is included in price) oil on canvas The realistic painted "17th century style' bouquets by Joran van der Haar, are always an eye-catcher in our gallery. The colorful bouquets look natural but have a long history of months of meticulous and layered work. It is sometimes difficult to predict when Joran's work can withstand its own "test of criticism". In addition, the layered work with oil paint sometimes also ensures long drying times. Shortening this is undesirable. In 2014 the artist started experimenting and painting with oil paint, flowers and insects soon turned out to be his preference. Again, this was a source of inspiration. The artist about his work: ‘In the Rijksmuseum and Mauritshuis I found the still lifes of Jan Davidsz. de Heem, Jan van Huysum and Ambrosius Bosschaert...
